Cameron Diaz Talks about Loving and Living a Balanced Life
We haven’t seen much of Cameron Diaz lately but her recent appearance at the “In Goop Health” wellness summit was a notable one. During the Gwyneth Paltrow-moderated panel, the 44-year-old actress shared pieces of advice on relationships and living a balanced life.
On Waiting to Get Married
In the past, Diaz has been open about not being sure if she’d ever get married but in 2015, she married Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden. Two years into their union, the celebrities are still so much in love with each other. The actress relates that she made the right choice in waiting to get married.
“I think it’s a matter of I just hadn’t met my husband. I had boyfriends before, and there’s a really, really distinct difference between husbands and boyfriends.”

Madden, according to Diaz, is the only boyfriend whom she felt was really her partner.
“He’s just my partner in life, in everything. I’ve never had anyone who supported me so much and gave me so much courage to be myself and to really explore myself. My husband has been able to show me what it’s like to […] be an equal. And I’ve learned so much from him. I look at him every day and he inspires me. I feel so lucky.”
And apparently, Benji Madden thinks he’s a lucky guy too.

On Living a Balanced Life
The author of The Longevity Book also opened up about how a fitness routine and transcendental meditation help her to live a balanced life.
“Working out is really important, especially when I have a full day. It’s the first thing I want to do—I want to start off get the endorphins going and get a sweat on. That always picks me up and clears my mind and pushes me out the door. And then I do TM.”
Diaz shares that the benefits of transcendental meditation, which changed her life since she started five years ago. Among the benefits she cited are being able to think clearly, staying grounded, and being energized, which are key elements in living a balanced life.
