How to Apply Liquid Lipstick Like a Pro
Having trouble applying that liquid lipstick? Well, get ready as you learn to apply liquid lipstick like a pro with these simple and easy-to-follow steps.
What you will need:
- liquid lipstick
- lip liner
- angled liner brush
Before you proceed to apply the liquid lipstick, make sure you start with a clean base. You can also use an angled lip brush instead of the applicator itself, which may be challenging to use for beginners. A lip brush is easier to control. So, you can place a small amount of the liquid lipstick on the back of your hand and dip the brush there.
Step 1: Outline the Lower Lip
Outline the lower lip by dipping the lip brush on a small amount of product. Be careful not to over-line the lip at first since you can start building up color once you the lower lip shape is done. Apply a thin coat of the liquid lipstick so that it does not look too heavy or crack.
Step 2: Outline the Cupid’s Bow
Outline your cupid’s bow when you’re done with the lower lip. It will take patience to create perfectly coated lips so take your time.
Step 3: Connect the Cupid’s Bow to the Lower Lip
Using small strokes, start connecting the cupid’s bow to the lower lip starting on the outer corner of your lips.
Step 4: Fill the Lips with Color
When you’re satisfied with the lip shape you’ve created, you can go ahead and fill the lips with the liquid lipstick. Be careful not to go over the lip shape.
Once you’ve filled in the lip color, clean the edges using an angled liner brush and concealer. Make sure you let the liquid lipstick dry completely before clean the edges off using a concealer to prevent mixing. Do this often and you’ll be applying liquid lipstick like a pro in no time.
