The newest hair color trend on Instagram is to dye rose gold for!

The hairstyle previously spotted on Sienna Miller and Blake Lively is now back on the scene. Scream Queens’ Emma Roberts and High School Musical’s Ashley Tisdale are just some of blonde celebrities who recently took on this beauty obsession, and their selfies are convincing a lot of ladies to try this hair trend. Shades of pink, red, and blonde are put together to create a flattering effect that is perfect for that stunning Instagram selfie.

Nikki Lee of Nine Zero One salon worked on Roberts’ hair and gave her a Desert Rose hue. Lee shares on her Instagram account (@nikkilee901) the formula she used to create the customized shade, specifically involving a Loreal Inoa 7.34 + 7n for the base and Shades EQ 8g+8c+9aa+clear+Olaplex for the gloss.

Tisdale debuted her latest hair makeover on Instagram with the caption, “New color alert: rose filter IRL!” Renowned colorist Kristen Ess is credited for the multi-hued look. Platinum streaks, a deep brunette shade, and a rosy tint near the roots add up to a beautiful transformation.

This new hair color trend is best for blondes and light-colored hair. If you are a brunette, you can still enjoy this new hue, just in a subtler and warmer tone. And don’t worry if you have darker hair because you only need to have your locks pre-lightened so you can have that strawberry-blonde look as well.

If you’re interested in dyeing your hair in rose gold hues, make sure you bring a picture of the shade you want to the salon. This way you can best communicate to the colorist what your desired outcome is. Also, a lot of upkeep is needed for pastel and soft colors. Make sure you use a toner that has a conditioner to keep the color vibrant and wash your hair with sulphate-free shampoo.
