Michelle Obama recently revealed the bootcamp workout she engaged in with her girlfriends while she was a resident of the White House. Apparently, this workout is the key for getting toned abs like the former First Lady of the United States.

 

How Michelle Obama Gets Toned Arms

The 53-year-old founder of the “Let’s Move” campaign posted snaps of her workout with her friends last June 19. The post shows Obama sweating it out by performing lunges, crunches, leg lifts, and planks. She captions the Instagram post with the following:

 

“When I was at the White House, I often hosted bootcamp weekends for my close girlfriends. It didn’t matter that we were all at varying fitness levels. Our bootcamp weekends were a reminder that if we want to keep taking care of others, we need to take care of ourselves first.

And even though I’m no longer at the White House, I’ve continued this tradition and wanted to share some photos. My girlfriends have been there for me through all kinds of life transitions over the years – including a pretty big one recently! – and we’ve done our best to stay healthy together. Whether it’s a bootcamp or a walk around the neighborhood, I hope you and your crew can find some time this summer to be healthy together.”

Exercise is Important for Michelle Obama

In an earlier post, we see the former First Lady doing pushups with Ellen Degeneres on The Ellen Show.

 

 

In a 2008 interview with Marie Claire, the former first lady explained that exercise isn’t just a way for her to stay fit but it has also helped her handle stress for a long time now.

 

“Exercise is really important to me — it’s therapeutic. So if I’m ever feeling tense or stressed or like I’m about to have a meltdown, I’ll put on my iPod and head to the gym or out on a bike ride along Lake Michigan with the girls.”

 

 

And, simply as a testament that Michelle Obama’s toned arms bare inspiring a lot of individuals to exercise and get fit, a hashtag has been created for her assets. Check them out here.
